MeFarm ("the app", "we") is an offline-first farm-management app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. MeFarm keeps a local database on your device as the source of truth — so it works in the field with no signal — and uses an account to back up your records and keep them in sync across your devices.
Farms, plots and their boundaries, plantings and growth events, herds and individual animals, health events, feed logs, tasks, photo metadata, cached weather, and AI insights are stored locally in an on-device database. This is the source of truth the app reads and writes, and it is available with no network connection.
MeFarm uses an account, so we process your email address (or the identifier provided by Sign in with Apple / Google) for authentication. Your profile may include a display name, phone number, and an avatar image that you choose to add.
With your permission, the app accesses your camera and photo library so you can attach images to plots, plantings, animals, herds, and health events. Photos are stored locally on your device. Photo metadata (such as classification labels) can sync when you are signed in.
With your permission, the app uses your device location to seed a farm's coordinate, to draw plot boundaries on the map, and to fetch location-specific weather. Your coordinates are sent to the weather provider to retrieve conditions and forecasts.
All user content is stored in a local database on your device. This is the source of truth the app reads and writes, and it is available with no network connection — once you have signed in, the app keeps working offline until you choose to sign out.
Your farm and record data is synced two-way to our hosted backend (Supabase, Postgres). Each row is isolated to your account using row-level security, so other users cannot access your data. Sync uses a last-write-wins strategy, and deletions are propagated as tombstones. Avatar images you upload are stored in cloud storage associated with your account.
Photo labeling uses on-device machine learning — image content is not uploaded to a server for classification. All farm insights (Growing Degree Days, harvest prediction, disease-risk and irrigation advice, heat-stress warnings, and weekly summaries) are generated on your device. No cloud AI/LLM service is used.
These services process only the data necessary to provide their function (for example, your sign-in identifier, or a farm's coordinates for a weather lookup). We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics/tracking.
MeFarm requests the following permissions, each used only for the stated purpose: Camera and Photo Library (attaching photos), Location (farm/plot mapping and weather), and Notifications (task reminders and severe-insight / heat-stress alerts). You can change these at any time in your device settings.
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you sign in, you can sign out at any time, which removes the synced copy from that device. To request deletion of your account and cloud data, contact us at the address below.
MeFarm is intended for farm operators and is not directed to children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
